lyrics

I got a one way ticket and I'm never coming back
the town I left's 250 miles down the track
I'm trying now to reconcile the loss with what I have
with what I still have

I left my place and family everything I've ever known
I lost the very feeling that I'd ever find a home
or that I'd see the light again, so lonesome and alone
but I knew I had to go

Now I'm looking for that silver lining
turning it over trying to find the bright side
for all that's lost what will I find?
Maybe a silver line, a silver line

Still heading toward a hopeful shore,
still broken over you
But I knew I had to leave, it was the right thing to do
every day's a new construction trying to block the view
this is harder than I knew

But I'm still looking for that silver lining
turning it over trying to find the bright side
and even in the dark you seem to shine
like a silver line, a silver line, oh that silver line

about

Leaving the Tracks Chicago, Illinois

These are demos for an ongoing project. Kerry Anne Pritchard is a hobo heart, California grown, born to roam.
When hobos traveled, they'd leave symbols & signs for others to find, to help, warn, encourage.
This project /band, Leaving the Tracks, is named for a sign meaning "Leaving railroad for highway or cross country." Songs explore grief, hope, leaving the known in search of something more.
